Nicola’s Donuts is a family owned small business born in 1982. Known for its fresh, fluffy, hand – made donuts, it was already a Tampa favorite when its current owner, Diane Rosario took over the business. A former elementary school teacher, Diane is passionate about making a difference in her community through her donuts.
Nicola’s is incredibly proud to give awareness and employment opportunities to those with special needs. Cameron is a young man on the autism spectrum. He is enrolled in culinary classes at Erwin Technical College and works at Outback Steakhouse. He got his start in high school by decorating donuts at Nicola’s on Saturdays.
“Working at Nicola’s gave me confidence. It was my first job. Diane took a chance on me, and now I want to start my own bakery one day. “- Cameron
“ I am a believer that “exposure is a teacher.” Thanks to Nicola’s, Cameron was able to gain experience with baking in a caring and loving environment. He was exposed to a world that left a positive imprint that will affect him for the rest of his life. As the mother of children with special needs, I am thankful for Nicola’s and other businesses willing to give opportunities to individuals who would not otherwise have the ability to learn through exposure and experience.” -Cameron’s Mom, Tahvia
At Nicola’s, we love making delicious donuts. We also want to serve our community in ways that go beyond our donuts. “Let each of you look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.” Philippians 2:4
